Florence City Pass 2026 — Is the Firenze Card Worth It?
Complete Firenze Card / Florence City Pass review for 2026. Cost, included museums, skip-the-line access, math breakdown & honest recommendation.
What Is the Firenze Card?
The Firenze Card is Florence's official museum pass. For €85, you get 72 hours of access to 72+ museums and monuments, including all the major attractions: the Uffizi Gallery, Galleria dell'Accademia, Palazzo Pitti, Boboli Gardens, Bargello, Medici Chapels, and many more. The card also includes skip-the-line access at participating museums — potentially saving you hours of waiting.
But is it actually worth €85? The answer depends entirely on how many museums you plan to visit and when.
What's Included
The Firenze Card covers entry to 72+ museums and attractions. The major ones include:
• Uffizi Gallery (normally €29 online) • Galleria dell'Accademia (€16) • Palazzo Pitti — all museums (€16) • Boboli Gardens (€10) • Bargello National Museum (€9) • Medici Chapels (€9) • Museo di San Marco (€8) • Palazzo Vecchio (€14) • Museo dell'Opera del Duomo complex (€30) • Galileo Museum (€12) • Plus 60+ smaller museums, churches, and galleries
Each museum can only be visited once with the card. The 72-hour timer starts from your first museum visit.
The Math — When It Pays Off
Let's crunch the numbers for typical itineraries:
Light itinerary (2-3 museums): Uffizi (€29) + Accademia (€16) = €45. Card costs €85. Not worth it.
Standard itinerary (4-5 museums): Uffizi (€29) + Accademia (€16) + Palazzo Pitti (€16) + Boboli (€10) = €71. Still €14 short. Add Bargello (€9) = €80. Getting close but still not quite.
Museum-heavy itinerary (5+ museums): Uffizi (€29) + Accademia (€16) + Palazzo Pitti (€16) + Boboli (€10) + Bargello (€9) + San Marco (€8) = €88. Pays for itself.
Add the Duomo complex (€30) or Palazzo Vecchio (€14) and the card becomes genuinely good value.
Skip-the-line tickets: Skip-the-line tickets start from €26 online, which can affect the calculation.
Skip-the-Line Benefit
This is the hidden value of the Firenze Card. During peak season (March–October), skip-the-line access at the Uffizi and Accademia can save you 2-3 hours per museum. If your time in Florence is limited, those saved hours have real value — you can use them to visit an additional museum or simply enjoy the city.
However, note that even with the Firenze Card, you should still reserve a time slot at the Uffizi and Accademia through the card's online reservation system. The card gives you priority entry, but a reservation ensures your preferred time.
My Honest Recommendation
Buy the Firenze Card if: • You're visiting 5+ museums in 3 days • You're visiting during high season and value skip-the-line access • You're a spontaneous traveler who wants to pop into museums without buying tickets each time
Skip the Firenze Card if: • You're only visiting 2-3 museums (buy individual tickets) • You only plan to visit 2-3 museums • You're on a tight budget (the card requires €85 upfront) • You're visiting with children under 18 (they enter free anyway)
For most visitors doing 3-4 days in Florence, individual skip-the-line tickets for the Uffizi and Accademia, plus a combo ticket for Palazzo Pitti/Boboli, is usually more cost-effective than the card.
